Fundraising for charitable causes is a vibrant and integral part of life at Crossley Heath School. Each year, our students and staff come together to raise significant funds for local, national, and international causes.
To celebrate the 160-year anniversary of our iconic school building, originally founded in 1864 as a school and orphanage through the philanthropy of the Crossley brothers, we are embarking on a momentous fundraising challenge. Inspired by their legacy, our goal is to raise £160,000 in our 160th year to champion education for our students and support the most vulnerable members of our community.
This year, we are proud to focus our fundraising efforts on three exceptional local charities:
A local charity working with people seeking asylum, and new refugees, who are rebuilding their lives in Calderdale.
Offering a welcoming, safe and inclusive space with advice, English language classes and wellbeing activities.
Based in Huddersfield supporting children who are affected by life-shortening conditions and their families.
Offering support and advice to make the life of each child as full and happy as possible.
They believe in the power of ordinary people to do extraordinary things for children and their families.
Caring for people over 18 who are facing life-limiting illness such as advanced stages of cancer, heart failure, lung, kidney and neurological diseases and their families to access the best possible care. They aim to improve their patient's quality of life, caring for the whole person - physical, emotional, spiritual, social needs and goals.
