    • Sixth Form Bowling Night!

      Our Year 12 students and Sixth Form staff had an absolute blast at the tin pin bowling lanes. The atmosphere was full of laughs, friendly rivalry, and plenty of impressive bowling skills on display.

      A huge shoutout to Mitchell, Will H, Chloe, Jayden and Mr Smith for their standout performances and top scores in the first game; however, Mr Hirst demonstrated some bowling prowess smashing the top score in the partial second game before time ran out.

      It was brilliant to see everyone getting involved and enjoying a bit of healthy competition and fun!

      After celebrating being the best school in Calderdale, we’re now incredibly proud to have been ranked the second highest-attaining school in all of Yorkshire, an outstanding achievement that reflects the hard work, dedication and excellence of our students and staff. 💜

      What makes this even more remarkable is that almost all of our students take on the additional academic challenge of studying both a language and a Humanities subject! 🌍📚

      A huge well done to our students for their phenomenal results, and congratulations to all the brilliant schools and young people across Yorkshire celebrating their successes too.

    • Reading Takes You Everywhere — Even on the Road to Victory!

      Our students prove that a great book is the perfect travel companion! On the way to the Swimming Gala, many took the opportunity to get lost in a story, showing that a love of reading can happen anytime, anywhere.

      At Crossley Heath, we believe reading isn’t just about improving literacy, it’s about expanding imagination, building empathy and developing lifelong curiosity.

      A huge congratulations to Iris (Year 12), Maisie (Year 9) and Georgina (Year 7), who recently wowed audiences as part of the Halifax Amateur Theatre Youth production of Anastasia! 🌟

      Iris took centre stage in the lead role, delivering a stunning performance that captivated the crowd, while Maisie and Georgina shone as part of the talented cast bringing energy, passion and professionalism to the stage. 🎶💃

    • Year 7 Trip to A Christmas Carol

      Our Year 7 students had a fantastic afternoon at the Victoria Theatre, where they watched the magical production of A Christmas Carol. From the festive set to the brilliant performances, the show brought Dickens’ classic to life in the most captivating way.

      It was wonderful to see our students so engaged, laughing, gasping and jumping at the spooky bits! A brilliant cultural experience and a perfect way to get into the festive spirit.

    • Sixth Form Engineers Get Inspired at A-Safe!

      Some of our budding Y12 and Y13 Engineers had a fantastic visit to A Safe in Elland this week as part of our Degree Apprenticeship programme!

      We had a really informative talk from Jo and Kirsty about the company and its vision before being shown around the vast and innovative factory by Richard. We finished with a discussion with a recent Apprentice graduate, Finlay who spoke about his journey with A Safe and his future career aspirations. We had many tips on how to navigate the job and applications process, including extensive use of Linked in!

    • Lest We Forget

      This morning, our school community came together at the Crossley Heath cenotaph to honour those who gave their lives in service to others.

      At 11am, students and staff gathered in quiet reflection for a moving act of remembrance, joined by our Sixth Form and teachers who paused lessons to take part. The ceremony was a powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice and unity that continue to inspire us today.

      We remember them and we continue to live our values of kindness, courage and excellence in their memory.

    • Appeal for Information – Stolen Stone Pillars

      We’re saddened to share that two historic stone pillar finials were stolen from our school site between 11pm on Thursday 6th November and 6am on Friday 7th November.

      These pillars are an important part of our school’s heritage, and we’d be so grateful for our community’s help in recovering them.

    • Forget Me Not Children's Hospice Cheque Presentation

      This week we had the pleasure of welcoming Imogen from Forget Me Not Children's Hospice into school, where we were able to present a cheque from our recent Fundraising Fortnight efforts.

      We are incredibly proud of our students whose enthusiasm, kindness and fundraising this year has made a real difference.

      Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice provides vital support to children with life-shortening conditions and their families, offering care, respite, counselling and a space filled with compassion and dignity. They do truly amazing work, and we are very happy to be able to support them.

      This has definitely inspired us as we look ahead to next year’s fundraising… we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together next!

      It was wonderful to visit Rastrick High School this week, where Isobel, Isabelle and Farheen, who all joined Crossley Heath Sixth Form from Rastrick, returned to share their experiences with their former schoolmates. 💜

      They spoke brilliantly about the opportunities, independence and support they’ve found since joining us, inspiring Rastrick’s current Year 11 students to follow in their footsteps.

    • Canada Rugby Tour – What a Trip

      An unforgettable fortnight of rugby, adventure and Crossley Heath spirit! 💜

      🏉 On the Pitch:

      Both teams were outstanding, with the U16s finishing unbeaten with 4 wins from 4 and the U18s winning 3 of 4 thanks to incredible teamwork and determination. Every game was played with courage, skill and pride.

      🍽️ Off the Pitch:

      A huge highlight was a team meal with alumnus David Briggs, whose generosity and support made the day extra special. The squad also enjoyed exploring Vancouver, watching the Whitecaps and Canucks, and soaking up Canadian life.

      🏆 The Finale:

      The tour ended with a celebration and awards ceremony, the perfect close to an amazing adventure.

    • Dubai Sports Tour Update!

      Our KS4 and KS5 girls have made a fantastic start to their Dubai Netball and Football Tour, showing brilliant teamwork, talent and Crossley Heath spirit! 💜

      ⚽ Football:

      A superb opening win! Ida opened the scoring with a stunning volley, Alexia dominated midfield and was named Player of the Match, and Belinda added a third after great link-up play with Reshem. Huge credit to Elodee for some top saves and our solid defence of Ritika, Grace, Harriet, Henrietta and Ebony! 💪

      🏐 Netball:

      An afternoon of thrilling matches against Dubai Hurricanes, full of energy, skill and great sportsmanship. 👏

      🌅 Evening Adventures:

      The girls enjoyed a magical desert evening with live performances, a BBQ buffet and camel rides. An unforgettable experience!
