Welcome! My name is Dean Jones and I am the Headteacher here at The Crossley Heath School. We adopted the name The Crossley Heath School in 1985 in recognition of our shared history from the founding schools of Heath Grammer School (c1600) and Crossley & Porter School (c1857). Our school building was opened in 1864 as a school and orphanage for girls and boys.
We are an inclusive school family, pursuing our vision to be “The leading school for educational excellence, where we nurture happy students with strong values, so they all contribute positively to society”. Our values are kindness, courage and excellence. Kindness means we respect each other and show generous hearts. Through courage we dare to make a difference. Excellence is achieved as we strive for success. Our mission is to unlock potential and build leaders of the future.
One of the most wonderful features of Crossley Heath is our warm, vibrant school culture, with a rich diversity of students from all backgrounds. We have aspirational classroom environments, a house system allowing all students of all ages to collaborate and compete, as well as commitment to a vast range of extra-curricular opportunities through clubs, sports and trips across the country and the world. This sense of care and community extends to our dedicated staff, who are passionate educators committed to the students and school we serve.
