Our students have been having the adventure of a lifetime on their trip to Iceland, packed with unforgettable sights, natural wonders and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
Sunday started bright and early as we departed school at 7:45am and headed straight to Reykjavik for a Lava Show – a spectacular and fiery introduction to this land of ice and fire!
On Monday, we took a boat trip to the stunning island of Heimaey, where we hiked to the crater of a volcano, explored lava flows and ash deposits, and discovered why it's known as the Pompeii of the North. We then headed to the immersive Lava Centre Cinema before returning to the hotel for a well-earned rest.
Tuesday was a true showcase of Iceland’s natural drama. We began at the incredible rift valley at Þingvellir, stood in awe of the explosive geysers at Geysir, and felt the full force of the mighty Gullfoss waterfall. The perfect end to the day? A relaxing soak in the geothermal waters of the Laugarvatn Fontana Spa. Pure magic!
We’re so proud of how our students have embraced this journey — exploring geology, geography and the great outdoors in one of the most extraordinary landscapes on Earth.
