Huge congratulations to Alex, who became a British Chess Champion this summer after finishing joint first in the U2000 Rapidplay tournament at the British Chess Championships in Liverpool’s iconic St George’s Hall!

And the success didn’t stop there… This past weekend, Alex achieved his best-ever performance at the 4 Nations Chess League event in Hull, playing in his favourite long-form matches. Across five gruelling rounds, with some games lasting up to four hours, Alex went undefeated, finishing joint second out of 39 competitors.

Seeded 24th by rating, he defied expectations by beating a FIDE Master and securing the only draw against the tournament winner. An incredible achievement that highlights his hard work, focus, and talent.
