This week we had the pleasure of welcoming Imogen from Forget Me Not Children's Hospice into school, where we were able to present a cheque from our recent Fundraising Fortnight efforts.

We are incredibly proud of our students whose enthusiasm, kindness and fundraising this year has made a real difference.

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice provides vital support to children with life-shortening conditions and their families, offering care, respite, counselling and a space filled with compassion and dignity. They do truly amazing work, and we are very happy to be able to support them.

This has definitely inspired us as we look ahead to next year’s fundraising… we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together next!

Our students prove that a great book is the perfect travel companion! On the way to the Swimming Gala, many took the opportunity to get lost in a story, showing that a love of reading can happen anytime, anywhere.

At Crossley Heath, we believe reading isn’t just about improving literacy, it’s about expanding imagination, building empathy and developing lifelong curiosity.

An unforgettable fortnight of rugby, adventure and Crossley Heath spirit!

On the Pitch:

Both teams were outstanding, with the U16s finishing unbeaten with 4 wins from 4 and the U18s winning 3 of 4 thanks to incredible teamwork and determination. Every game was played with courage, skill and pride.

Off the Pitch:

A huge highlight was a team meal with alumnus David Briggs, whose generosity and support made the day extra special. The squad also enjoyed exploring Vancouver, watching the Whitecaps and Canucks, and soaking up Canadian life.

The Finale:

The tour ended with a celebration and awards ceremony, the perfect close to an amazing adventure.

Our amazing KS4 and KS5 girls have landed safely in Dubai and are ready to begin their Netball and Football Sports Tour!

It’s set to be an unforgettable week of competition, culture, and teamwork as the girls represent Crossley Heath on the international stage, showcasing their talent and school spirit under the Dubai sun.

A huge thank you to James O’Rourke Tutoring for generously sponsoring the team’s tour hoodies! They look fantastic and will be worn with pride throughout the trip!

Amelie, the second recipient of our first annual Crossley Brothers Scholarship, has just begun her studies at the University of Oxford and she has shared an update with us about how the scholarship has impacted her:

“I’m really enjoying university life so far and have settled in quickly. After almost two weeks of lectures I’m loving all of my modules, and I’m finding Oxford’s tutorial system especially valuable - studying in a group of just two students with a specialist tutor is helping me deepen my understanding every week.

The scholarship has already made such a difference, helping with accommodation costs and essential items like my sub fusc, which we wear for exams and formal ceremonies. On Saturday I took part in matriculation, which was such a memorable experience - and I’m now officially a member of Oxford University!”

The Crossley Brothers Scholarship supports exceptional Crossley Heath students in our Sixth Form, as they leave us and take bold next steps in their education and careers. We are so proud of Amelie and everything she has achieved and we can’t wait to follow her journey!

What a day! We’re still buzzing after yesterday’s Swimming Gala, where our students showed incredible talent, teamwork and determination in the pool!

We brought our entire Year 7 cohort along and they were the best crowd, cheering their teams on with such passion and pride. We’ll be humming those House chants all the way through the half term break next week!

After a nail-biting contest, with just a point or two between the Houses, Kings House came out on top! Huge congratulations to all of our competitors, our House Captains and to Mrs Cartmell as Head of Kings House. What an achievement!
