    • National Success for William and Harry!

      Published 14/10/25

A huge congratulations to Will and Harry who took on the Kinder Extreme challenge this weekend, a gruelling 32km hike/run across the Peak District and finished an incredible 3rd place out of 23 national teams! 👏

Representing the 12th Halifax Sea Scouts, the boys showed outstanding endurance, teamwork and determination, completing the course in just 5 hours and 10 minutes. Even more impressive, they did it all after a 4am start and very little sleep due to other commitments! 😅

An amazing achievement against some of the best scout teams in the country, we’re so proud of you both!

They had a fantastic time teaching French and German to pupils from Year 2 through to Year 6 sharing their love of languages and inspiring the next generation of linguists. 🇫🇷🇩🇪

It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to develop their leadership skills while showing younger pupils just how exciting learning another language can be. A big well done to our Sixth Formers for being such brilliant role models!

    • Another school sporting success story

      Published 30/09/25

After we shared the fantastic news of Jim Farrell, a proud Heath Grammar School alumnus who recently earned his first international sporting cap representing England in clay trap shooting, we were thrilled to hear from another talented alumna: Jennie Cartwright (née Taylor), Class of 1987.

Jennie was House Captain during her school days and has had an incredible sporting journey since. She earned her first England cap (also in clay trap shooting!) in 2022 at the age of 54, representing England in the World Sporting Clays Championship in the USA – and was part of the silver medal-winning Ladies Team.

Since then, Jennie has gone from strength to strength. She now lives on the Isle of Wight and last year competed in the Island Games in Guernsey, bringing home four gold medals – winning every event she entered!

From school netball tours (and the occasional bike mishap!) to international competitions and coaching others at her local shooting ground, Jennie’s story is a brilliant example of lifelong sporting passion and achievement.

We’re so proud of all our students – past and present – who continue to inspire with their talents, resilience and adventures!

    • Best In Calderdale

      Published 26/09/25

We’re thrilled to share that The Telegraph’s 2025 league table has recognised Crossley Heath as the top secondary school in Calderdale, a fantastic achievement that reflects the hard work and brilliance of our students. 💜

Our Year 11s in 2024 set a new school record for the highest GCSE results in Crossley Heath history – a record only beaten by this year’s Year 11s in 2025! Together, they are on track to become our highest-achieving Sixth Form cohort in a generation, and we couldn’t be prouder.

This recognition is all down to the dedication, resilience and excellence of our students, supported by their incredible families and our wonderful staff. A true Crossley Heath community achievement!
