We’re incredibly proud of our students who took part in the Calderdale Athletics Competition this week!
Across all three year groups, our talented athletes brought home an impressive 14 medals, a true testament to their hard work, determination and team spirit.
A special shoutout to our Year 7 team, who came first overall and proudly brought home the trophy! ![]()

Well done to every student who represented Crossley Heath, you did us proud!
Day 2 began with a fascinating visit to the DDR Museum, which was particularly relevant for our Sixth Formers studying post-war Germany, but thoroughly enjoyed by all. We then took a walk around the stunning Museum Island, passing the Berliner Dom, Humboldt University, and Bebelplatz, the poignant site of the Nazi book burnings. The afternoon brought sunshine and relaxation with a scenic boat trip along the Spree, and we ended the day with breathtaking panoramic views of Berlin from the Fernsehturm (TV Tower).
Day 3 was another long but brilliant day in sunny Berlin! We started with a morning of sightseeing, taking in the iconic Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, and the moving Holocaust Memorial. After a well-earned lunch break with some fun and games in the Tiergarten, the group headed to the German Spy Museum, where the interactive exhibits were a big hit. The day continued with some shopping and dinner at the Berlin Mall, and we rounded it all off with a spectacular evening visit to the Reichstag dome, offering another stunning view of this vibrant city.
We’re incredibly proud to congratulate Mr Baker from our PE department, who will be representing the U20 Lancashire team in the RFU County Championship Finals this Saturday at Twickenham Stadium! ![]()

The finals will be held just before the England XV vs France XV fixture in front of up to 82,000 people, this is a huge achievement and an amazing opportunity to play at the home of English rugby.
Mr Baker’s dedication and passion for the sport inspire our students every day, now it's his turn to take to the big stage!
We’ll all be cheering you on from school. Best of luck, Mr Baker! ![]()
The Crossley Heath School presents, your new House Captains!
Some may say it is the greatest honour to lead your house to victory and these students will give it their all.
They are currently extremely busy with House Music and House Athletics on the horizon, along with helping out with all the fundraising we do here at Crossley Heath.
If you have a student here, make sure they take part in house events, they are memories that will last a life time.
Our U15 cricketers produced an outstanding team performance to beat GSAL in a thrilling 20/20 match that came down to the last over.
Stand out performances from Matty A who took a hatrick and four wickets in all in a superb spell of bowling, while Sebby (44) and player of the match Matty (55 not out) formed a pivotal batting partnership.
This was one of the finest Crossley Heath performances for a number of years and the team now travel to Scarborough College in the quarter final!
'Discover Your Voice' - Public Speaking Workshop
27 Year 12 student leaders and school and house officials took part in a morning of public speaking training delivered by Alex Edwards from the English Speaking Union.
During the ‘Discover Your Voice’ workshop, the students learned the theory behind effective public speaking and then developed their public speaking skills through a range of group activities and tasks.
It was an interesting and fun morning which will help the students to carry out their roles as student leaders effectively, such as delivering assemblies and speaking at events!
The Year 8 residential comes to a close!
Wonderful memories have been made, and Mr Charlesworth & Mrs Griggs are very happy and proud of the students' conduct throughout, and their willingness to get involved in the activities and push themselves out of their comfort zone and develop their team building skills.
A huge thank you to the staff and 4 of our senior sixth formers (Lakshya, Anaya, Emily & Chaarvik) for supporting the trip.
