Calling all parents and guardians!

If your child would like to take part in our whole-school Colour Run, happening in just over two weeks' time, please book their place via ParentPay as soon as possible so we can make sure we’ve got enough supplies for everyone - we don’t want anyone to miss out!

What is the Colour Run?

It’s one of the most exciting days in the school calendar! The entire school heads out onto the moor to run, jog or walk while getting covered in eco-friendly, non-toxic coloured powder, including blasts from our amazing paint canons!

There are different pricing tiers available on ParentPay to suit all families.

And don’t forget - students are encouraged to get sponsored to boost their fundraising totals, with brilliant prizes for the top fundraisers!

Zara was absolutely overjoyed, and in total shock, last week as she proudly claimed silver at the British Ice Skating Cup in Sheffield!

Not only did she land her double flip for the very first time in competition, but she also smashed her personal best with a brilliant score of 29.34.

It was a hugely emotional moment for both Zara and her coach, as their hard work, resilience and dedication truly paid off. Standing on the podium to receive her first ever British Ice Skating medal, Zara shone with pride, and we couldn't be more proud of her!

On Sunday, our student leaders Lakshya, Anaya and Bhavan were proud to represent Crossley Heath at the annual Heath Founders’ Day service, held at the historic Halifax Minster.

The event commemorates Dr John Favour, former Vicar of Halifax and founder of the “Free Grammar School of Queen Elizabeth at Heath near Halifax,” which first opened its doors in 1600. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our shared heritage and the rich history that has shaped our school community.

A heartfelt thank you to the Heath Old Boys Association for the invitation. Our students always enjoy the chance to honour the past and celebrate the traditions that continue to inspire us today.

This week’s well-deserved Star Staff shoutout goes to Mr Barber, whose kindness, creativity and care for students truly stood out.

After noticing one of his students was struggling to focus in lessons, Nick took it upon himself to design and build a fidget bar prototype, a clever tool that fits under the front of a desk to help students with hyperactivity needs channel their energy and maintain concentration.

This thoughtful innovation shows not only Nick’s problem solving skills, but also his deep commitment to inclusion and supporting all learners. We’re so lucky to have staff who go the extra mile to make a difference.
