Science Technician
Scale 3, £11,139 (Actual)
20 hours per week (mornings), term time only – plus 5 days

Crossley Heath has an outstanding Science department that provides a varied and challenging practical curriculum for students aged 11 to 18.  We seek to appoint a part time Science Technician who has the knowledge and skills to provide technical support for year 7 and 8 Science.  The role involves taking responsibility for the practical resources for year 7 and 8 lessons as well as working flexibly with the other classes when necessary.   The ability to work closely with the other Science Technicians is vital.

The successful candidate will need to be an enthusiastic individual with a passion for the Sciences and have excellent communication skills. Previous experience of working in a similar role is desirable but not essential.  This is a wonderful opportunity to join a school in which there is a strong team spirit and where students have a genuine desire to learn. We are a friendly, down to earth school with a diverse student population. We welcome applications from all backgrounds.

Supply Teachers

We are always looking to recruit flexible secondary supply teachers for general and subject specialist cover to provisionally teach on a day to day and short term basis. Whether you are a ECT / NQT or an experienced teacher looking for supply teaching work, short or possible long term contracts, please get in touch.

The essentials we require are:

  • UK teaching qualification (QTS or QTLS)
  • Recent UK school experience across KS3/ KS4
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one)
  • Professional reference checks
  • Legal right to work in the UK
