Interested in volunteering as a school trustee?

The Crossley Heath School Academy Trust, Halifax, is seeking to appoint new trustees to join our Governing Body who are willing to contribute and commit to the governance of this outstanding and truly child-centred school.

Trustees play a vital role in setting the school’s vision, overseeing the school’s financial performance, holding the school leadership to account and challenging existing processes to drive school improvements and outcomes for pupils. No-one person can do all of the above so it’s important to have a diverse range of expertise, skills and experience and for governors to work together as a team.

As a trustee you’ll provide oversight and accountability but you also engage with pupils, staff, parents to understand their views. Typically, this would involve 8 meetings a year and occasionally supporting the school at events. It can be a truly rewarding experience which allows you to make a difference and improve the lives of young people.
