    Department Leader for Economics & Business Studies

    Department Leader for Economics & Business Studies
    Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR2C
    To start September 2025

    We would like to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to lead this high performing 
    department. The successful candidate should have excellent subject knowledge to promote further 
    innovation within the department. They should also be an excellent classroom practitioner who can 
    secure high attainment and strong progress with students of high ability in both GCSE Business and ALevel Business Studies and Economics. 

    We are a very friendly, down to earth school with a diverse student population. We welcome

    Due to impending retirement, we will have two vacancies within our well-established English department. We wish to recruit outstanding, enthusiastic and innovative teachers who can bring new ideas and best practice to the Department. This is an excellent opportunity for ambitious teachers looking to develop their practice and gain experience within a highly successful and supportive school.  We are looking for excellent classroom practitioners, who can secure high attainment and strong progress, particularly with students of high ability.​

    Supply Teachers

    We are always looking to recruit flexible secondary supply teachers for general and subject specialist cover to provisionally teach on a day to day and short term basis. Whether you are a ECT / NQT or an experienced teacher looking for supply teaching work, short or possible long term contracts, please get in touch.

    The essentials we require are:

    • UK teaching qualification (QTS or QTLS)
    • Recent UK school experience across KS3/ KS4
    • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one)
    • Professional reference checks
    • Legal right to work in the UK

    My name is Dean Jones and I am the Headteacher here at The Crossley Heath School.

    It’s a privilege to lead this remarkable school. Crossley Heath is steeped in rich history that dates back to 1585 with education taking place on this site since 1864 when the building was founded as an orphanage and school. This heritage provides the basis of inclusivity and social mobility that we still have at the heart of our ethos. We are an inclusive school family, building on our proud heritage to champion the students of today to become the leaders of tomorrow. We believe in realising every student’s potential to change the world for the better. Promoting values of kindness, bravery and imagination from our students as we pursue academic excellence and strength of character. We care, we stand up for what is right and we dream big.

    One of the most wonderful features of Crossley Heath is our warm, vibrant school culture, with a rich diversity of students from all backgrounds.
