In the event of a school closure, Crossley Heath is committed to providing continuity of education to its students and will do so through a process of School-wide remote learning.
School-wide remote learning would apply in a situation in which the school is closed for an extended period of time; this may also include shorter-term school closures e.g. as a result of inclement weather. Remote learning would take the format of predominantly 'live' online lessons wherever possible and on a timetable modified to balance academic support and wellbeing management. We also use online lessons for bespoke tutoring and revision sessions as required for identified groups of students as part of our academic intervention programme.
We do not operate interactive remote learning for individual instances of student absence; however, our website and online class Microsoft Teams always provide curriculum content within every subject to support a student in learning outside of the classroom.
The primary platform the school will use to deliver continuity of education is Microsoft Teams, accessed via the relevant app or desktop application, or by clicking here.
If you have any questions or concerns about remote learning, you should contact the following individuals:
In the event of a school closure, students, parents and teachers are reminded that the school’s safeguarding policy, still applies to all interactions between students and teachers. In that policy, there are specifically prohibited behaviours and reporting obligations to which teachers must adhere, whether they are at home, in the community or at school.
Any questions or concerns about safeguarding should continue to be raised with the Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mr Lee Chesters or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead: Miss J Rudman.
