Covid-19 Statement

School is now closed to all students. However, we are providing a service as a place of last resort for children who are vulnerable, and children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home. Many parents working in these sectors will be able to ensure their child is kept at home and every child who can be safely cared for at home should be, to limit the chance of the virus spreading.

Children with a parent or carer who is listed on the government’s critical worker list should be considered for a school place, so long as their job cannot be done from home or there is no other parent or carer who can remain at home to care for them. We are recommending that year 10 and year 11 students work from home as they are old enough to do so independently.

Details of those categories of worker deemed critical to the Covid-19 response can be found here

Vulnerable children include children who are supported by social care, those with safeguarding and welfare needs, including child in need plans, on child protection plans, ‘looked after’ children, young carers, disabled children and those with EHC plans. For vulnerable children, your child’s social worker will work with you to assess the best option for your child.

School is currently providing for a small group of registered students but we understand that circumstances can change. If your child falls into one of the above categories, is not currently accessing provision at the school and your circumstances mean that you now need them to be considered for a place, please contact the Head Teacher’s PA, Claire Heaton: c.heaton@georges41.sg-host.com
